Once upon a time, there lived an old man in a small village. He was unthankful for all the blessings of life he had. He was an old widower and lived alone in his own small house.
One day, it happened to be a very stormy evening. The village people heard a loud noise from the old man’s house. They all rushed to his house to find out what had happened. When they reached the man’s house, they saw that a big tree in his front yard had fallen and had damaged the roof of his house.
The old man was very angry and started cursing God and blaming for all his miseries. The village people were very shocked and sad to see him talking like that. They all tried to console him but he refused to be consoled.
The next morning, the old man got up and started to repair his house himself. The village people came to his house and offered to help him but again he refused to take their help. The village people were very sad and decided to leave him alone to fix his house.
After a few days, the old man finished repairing his house. The village people were happy to see that he had fixed his house by himself. They gathered around him and praised him for his hard work and dedication. But again, the old man remained unthankful and rude to them.
The village people were not happy with the old man’s behavior and decided to teach him a lesson. So, they decided to spread the word all around the village about how unthankful the old man was. Soon enough, the news spread and reached to the old man himself.
He realized his mistake and apologized to the village people. He promised to be thankful for every little thing he was blessed with. The village people were happy to hear his apology and they forgave him.
Moral:-
It is important to be thankful for all the blessings in life. Having a negative attitude towards life will only bring sorrows and unhappiness. Gratitude can go a long way and make life more meaningful.
