Once upon a time, there were two best friends, Jenny and Charlie. They were classmates since grade school and were inseparable ever since. Every day the two would walk to school together and back, telling each other stories and gossiping about their classmates. They were so in tune with one another, it often seemed like they could finish each other’s sentences.
But one day, something changed. Charlie’s family had to move to another city due to his father’s job. Jenny was devastated and couldn’t really function properly. She was so used to spending all her time with Charlie that being apart from him felt like a part of her had been taken away.
Every day she would wait for the mailman, hoping that he would bring news of Charlie. But every day he brought nothing. Jenny started to lose hope and she would spend more and more time alone, daydreaming about what it used to be like when the two of them were together.
One day, she decided to take matters into her own hands. She wrote a letter to Charlie asking him to come visit. Weeks passed and the mailman still brought nothing. She felt like Charlie had forgotten about her and she was heartbroken.
But then one day, the mailman finally brought something. It was a letter from Charlie. He said that he was planning to come for a visit and he asked Jenny to pick him up at the train station.
Jenny was so excited she almost couldn’t believe it. She ran all the way to the train station and waited for hours until finally, she saw him. The two of them embraced and it felt like nothing had changed.
From then on, the two of them kept in touch through letters and phone calls. Whenever Charlie could, he would come and visit and they would go back to being the inseparable friends they once were.
Moral: Even when it’s hard to stay connected, with patience and dedication, it is possible to find a way back to your loved ones.
