Once upon a time there lived a young boy in a small town on the edge of a river. His name was Turkeer. He was a clever boy, who had wide knowledge about the world around him.

Turkeer’s favourite pastime was exploring the river and its surroundings. Every day he would get up early in the morning, take his fishing rod and head off to the river … He would fish for hours and the catch of the day would be his lunch.

One day, while he was fishing, Turkeer noticed a shiny object in the water. He fished it out and was amazed to see that it was an old coin. He couldn’t believe his eyes! He had never seen a coin like this before.

After happily pocketing the coin, Turkeer went back to fishing. He was just about to leave when something caught his attention. He looked closer and noticed a little boat floating downstream. It was a very small boat with room for only one person and the current was carrying it away!

Turkeer didn’t think twice. He grabbed his fishing rod and chased after the boat. He had to act fast, as the current was very strong and the boat was moving very fast. Fortunately, Turkeer was determined and managed to catch up with the boat and pull it to shore.

He saw that the boat had no passengers, so he decided to turn it back and send it downstream. He untied the rope and pushed the boat back into the river. When the boat was safely away, Turkeer headed back home.

This was the best day of Turkeer’s life. He had earned a lot of respect from the people in his town for his brave act. But more importantly, he had learned a valuable lesson. He had learnt that selfless acts can make a huge difference, no matter how small they may seem.

Moral of the story: A small act of kindness can make a big difference.
