Once upon a time, there was a little boy named Benny. Benny was a very curious and outgoing child, always exploring the world around him.

One day, Benny’s grandmother took him to the local park for a picnic. After lunch, Benny’s grandmother noticed a large tree at the center of the park with apples hanging from its branches. She asked Benny, “Would you like to go and pick some apples for us?”

Benny quickly agreed and ran off towards the tree. He climbed up the tree and started picking the apples. Suddenly, he heard a voice from behind him, “Hey there little boy, what are you doing?”

Benny turned around to see an old man standing behind him. He was dressed in old clothing and had a long white beard. Benny nervously said, “I’m picking these apples for my grandmother.”

The old man nodded his head and said, “Well, that’s very nice of you. But, could I ask you to do me a favor?” Benny was confused but agreed nonetheless. The old man said, “I have been walking around here for a while now and I am quite tired. Could you please pick one apple for me as well?”

Benny happily agreed and picked another apple for the old man. The old man thanked him and said, “You know, you’re a very kind and thoughtful boy. I’m sure your grandmother must be very proud of you.”

Benny smiled and thanked the man before running off to his grandmother. He proudly showed her the two apples he had picked and told her about the kind old man.

Benny’s grandmother was happy and proud of her grandson for being so thoughtful and kind. She told Benny, “You have learned an important lesson today. Be thankful for all that you have and always be willing to help others in need.”

And Benny was thankful. He knew that he was lucky to have a wonderful grandmother who was always looking out for him, and he was also thankful for the kind old man who taught him an important lesson about giving to others.

The moral of the story is that we should be thankful for all that we have and always be willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Being thankful and helping others is the best way to show your appreciation to those around you.
