It was the first day of summer and all the children in the neighborhood were so excited. They could hardly contain their enthusiasm. All the children were dreaming of what they would do during the long, hot summer days.

Danny was especially excited because he had just moved to the neighborhood and it was his first summer there. He imagined all the interesting things he would be able to do with this new group of friends. He could already feel the warmth of the sun on his skin and the smell of summer in the air.

On the first day of summer, all the children went to the local park to play. They ran and laughed and played games. Danny was in the middle of a game of hide-and-seek when he noticed a pesky mosquito buzzing around his ear. He swatted at it and then noticed that there were a whole lot more mosquitoes around. In fact, the entire park seemed to be filled with them.

The children didn’t know what to do. All of their fun was being ruined by the mosquitoes. Danny had a brilliant idea. He suggested that they all get together and make a giant bonfire in the middle of the park. The plan was, the heat from the bonfire would keep the mosquitoes away and they could all continue to play without any interruptions.

All the children agreed, and soon enough a bonfire was blazing in the middle of the park. As they watched the flames lick the sky, they all felt so proud that their idea had worked.

That night when the children went to bed, Danny couldn’t help but think about the day’s events. He realized there was a moral to the story. He had learned that when you work together, you can solve most any problem. He had also learned that it’s important to respect nature and not disrupt it by starting fires in parks.

At the end of the day, Danny went to bed with a smile on his face knowing that his first day of summer was a success. He had made lots of new friends and had solved a problem in a new way too. That night he dreamt of all the exciting things he and his new friends could do over the summer.

The moral of the story is that we can achieve great things if we work together and respect our environment.
