Once upon a time, there lived a little girl in a small town called Millerton. Her name was Sarah and she was a very smart and kind-hearted girl. She had lots of friends in school and everybody loved spending time with her.
One day, Sarah went to the doctor for a checkup. The doctor found that Sarah had postmastoid, a rare condition that affects the bones in her skull. The doctor explained to Sarah and her family that if it wasn’t treated, it could cause hearing loss or even facial paralysis.
Sarah was very scared, but she stayed strong and told her family that she would do whatever it took to get better. She started treatment right away and her family did everything they could to keep her comfortable. Every day Sarah took her medicine, went to physical therapy and even did special exercises to strengthen the muscles in her face.
After months of treatment Sarah was finally starting to feel better. She could move her face again and her hearing was back to normal.
But the best part was that Sarah was feeling better mentally, too. She was able to see the good in things and find joy in life. She realized that even though postmastoid was scary and hard, it was also an opportunity to learn about herself and be grateful for the great life she had.
The moral of the story is that no matter what life throws at us, we can choose to focus on the good and be grateful for what we have. Sarah taught us that facing our fears, embracing them, and learning to cherish the little things can help us get through anything.
