Once upon a time in a small town called Urbana, there lived a young boy named John. John was a bright and intelligent boy, who enjoyed learning and new experiences. He loved to explore the outdoors and go on adventures.

One day, while walking home from school, John spotted an old man standing at the corner of the street. The man, who wore a tattered coat and hat, looked to be in his late sixties. John was a bit startled, as he had never seen the man before. He walked over to the man and asked him his name.

The old man told him that his name was Mr. Add and that he was an old man who had lived in Urbana for many, many years. He had seen many changes – good and bad – over the years, but he still held onto his optimistic outlook on life.

John was intrigued by Mr. Add, so he decided to spend some time with him. The two of them slowly began to form a friendship and soon enough, Mr. Add began to tell John stories about his life. He would recount stories of his travels, his experiences in the army, his family, his passions, and more.

Every day, John would come back to school and share with his classmates the new stories he had heard from Mr. Add. The stories were always interesting and full of wisdom and insight.

One day, John asked Mr. Add what the secret to life was. Mr. Add paused, looked at John, and told him something he would never forget.

He said, “The secret to life is not a secret at all. To be happy and content, you need to treat others the way you’d like to be treated. Respect everyone and show them kindness.”

Mr. Add’s words had a lasting impact on John and he carried the lessons with him throughout his life.

The moral of the story: Treat others the way you’d like to be treated and respect everyone. Showing kindness and respect will give you a life of contentment and joy.
