Holden was mesmerized by the old man’s stories. He talked about his life, his family and the places he had been. He talked about the importance of being kind, of living life to the fullest, and of cherishing every moment. These words touched Holden’s heart and he suddenly felt peaceful and content.

Holden spent the afternoon with the old man, listening to his stories and taking in his wisdom. By the time Holden was ready to leave, he was filled with hope and courage, and he finally felt like he had found something he could hold on to.
