Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there lived a young boy named Tom. Tom was a very brave and adventurous lad, but he was also very curious. One day, on his way to school, he passed by a strange tree with red and yellow leaves; he’d never seen one like it before.

Tom decided to take a closer look, and as he approached the tree he noticed something even more peculiar: the leaves of the tree were changing color. Tom was puzzled, so he plucked one of the leaves off the tree and was amazed to discover that it was actually changing from red to yellow.

Tom couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He raced home to tell his parents, and they explained that the tree was an example of erythrism – a rare natural mutation in plants that causes them to produce red and yellow leaves.

Tom’s parents told him that erythrism was extremely rare, but they had heard some stories of erythrism in trees. Tom was fascinated, and he ran off to tell all his friends at school about the amazing tree he had seen.

The next day, Tom decided to go back to the tree and see if it was still changing color. He was stunned to find that the entire tree had changed from red to yellow. Tom was now sure that this tree was truly a magical phenomenon – he couldn’t explain it any other way.

Tom ran home to tell his parents and all his friends about the amazing tree, but no one was more interested than the king of the kingdom. The king was so fascinated by this example of erythrism that he issued a royal decree: all erythrism trees should be protected in the kingdom.

This was the beginning of a new law in the kingdom; a law that would protect all erythrism trees forever. Tom was happy that he had discovered this magical tree, and he was proud to know that he had helped protect it.

The moral of this story is that you never know what you might discover if you take the time to look and explore. No matter how small or insignificant something might seem, it could turn out to be something amazing.
