Once upon a time, there was a small but determined girl named Emily. She lived in a small village, and everyday she and her parents went to the local chapel for Sunday morning service. Emily was always in awe of the chapel and loved to sit and watch the services, as she was very interested in the bible and the stories that were told.
One particular Sunday morning, Emily decided to stay behind in the chapel when everyone else went home. She stayed to explore and to see all the chapel’s wonderful features. She looked around the room, which was filled with stained glass windows and beautiful wooden pews. She ran her hands along the walls, feeling the texture of the stone and bricks.
Then she looked up and saw the most beautiful thing yet – the chapel’s stained glass window. The sunlight shone perfectly on the window, creating a rainbow of vibrant colors across the room. Emily was mesmerized and immediately felt an overwhelming sense of awe and beauty.
Emily spend the next few hours marveling at the stained glass window and imagining what stories it held. She thought about how it was created by someone many years ago, and how it has been admired by so many people over the years.
Suddenly, Emily heard a noise and quickly realized that she was not alone. She turned around to see an old man, stooping a little, with a kind face. She asked him what he was doing there, and he said he used to work in the chapel years ago. He loved the chapel so much, he still came to talk to God and to sit in the pews for a few minutes of peace and quiet.
The old man saw Emily’s fascinated expression and asked her if she also wanted to learn more about the chapel. Emily eagerly agreed, and the old man took her on a tour of the chapel, explaining the history of the chapel and how it was built. He also showed Emily the stained glass window and told her stories about its creators and admirers.
When they were done with the tour, the old man told Emily that the chapel held many secrets and stories behind its walls. He said it was where we can go to talk to God, learn about our faith and remember that no matter how small we are, we can each make a big difference in the world.
Emily was so moved by the old man’s words and the beauty of the chapel. She thanked him for the tour and for inspiring her to look beyond the walls of the chapel. From then on, Emily always found time to visit the chapel and to remember the moral the old man shared; that we can all make a difference, no matter how small we may seem.
