Once upon a time, there lived a poor farmer in a small village named Raj. He lived in a small hut with his three children, and he had to work hard to make ends meet.
Raj had a neighbor, an old man named Natha, who owned a large estate. Natha was very wealthy and generous, and he often offered Raj some of his produce, either to barter or donate. Despite their differences in income, the two had a cordial relationship.
One day, Raj was out tending to his crops when he heard a loud commotion coming from the Natha’s estate. Raj rushed over to see what was going on and found that Natha was in a heated argument with several people from neighboring villages. The people were demanding that Natha give up some of his land so they could build a new temple. Natha refused and said he would never give up his land.
Raj was surprised by Natha’s refusal, but he saw why the people were so insistent. Every year, they had to travel a long distance to the nearest temple, and the journey was difficult and often dangerous. Raj realized that if Natha were to acquiesce, it would benefit the community greatly, and he went to his neighbor and tried to persuade him to give up his land.
At first, Natha was adamant in his refusal, but Raj persisted in explaining why it would be beneficial for everyone in the village if he offered his land. After much thought and deliberation, Natha finally conceded and agreed to give up his land.
The people from the neighboring villages were ecstatic and thanked Raj for his efforts in convincing Natha. The temple was completed in a few months, and everyone in the village was now able to access a temple without having to travel long distances.
The moral of this story is that sometimes we must be willing to acquiesce and make sacrifices in order to help those around us. Selflessness and generosity are qualities that are essential to living a good life, and they help to create a harmonious and peaceful community.
